The best thing about working out is that you can do it from anywhere, even the comfort at your home.
If the exercises are done correctly and kept consistent, they can be just as effective as doing a gym workout.
Below are some of the good workout routines you can incorporate in your home.
A Beginner’s Home Workout
You do not need any special equipment to start these home workouts.
You can try the exercises in one workout session or split them up during the day. You should at least do two to three sets, having 10 to 12 repetitions of each exercise.
If you can do around five to start with, it is still okay. The reps should be increased every week until you can do three sets of 12.
Below are the four exercises you can start with to launch the good workout routines to follow to help you lose weight.
Push-ups
When doing push-ups, the perfect form should be achieved. Start with a variation that you can complete.
Within the next few days, progress to the next level until when you can do 10 to 12 reps, without stopping short, dropping or even shaking.
Lunges
You can start by simple back lunges which will work on your thighs and buttocks. You can use a wall or chair to achieve a balance.
Once you can do around 12 lunges on each leg without any support whatsoever, you can try the front lunge.
Squats
Squats work on the main muscles in the lower body and help to firm the thighs and buttocks.
Ensure that your squats are done with your feet at a hip distance apart. The hips should sink behind you as though you are sitting on a chair.
Planks
Planks strengthen the abdominal muscles and those supporting the back. You can start by holding the plank position for around 15 seconds.
As the days go by and you get stronger, you can progress to 60 seconds, and finally 90 seconds.
The most important thing about a workout routine is to set a goal that works for you.
Remember that your body is different from those of your friends, immediate family, and your role models.
Different things work for different people. You should ensure that you follow your path and be realistic about what you want to achieve, and in how long you want to achieve it.
You can start working out at least two to three days a week. This will help you to create a consistent routine that you can follow.
After a few weeks, you can reassess and make any adjustments based on what you liked and what you did not like.
Working out is one of the best decisions that you could make towards having a healthier you.
